Roger Frank is a Managing Director at Developing World Markets, aninvestment banking boutique with a social mission. He is part of a teamthat creates socially responsible investments that provide real marketreturns, including the MM Blue Orchard Microfinance Securitization,the first cross-border securitization of loans to global MFIs.
Prior to joining DWM he helped introduce many emerging markets totop-tier investment firms and their clients. Starting on Wall Street inthe late 1980s, when overseas equity investing was just beginning andemerging market investing was non-existent, he traveled to, researchedand sold emerging market and international equities to US-basedinstitutional investors from positions at Salomon SmithBarney/Citigroup, Schroders, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Lazard. During histenure he has witnessed first hand the impact of numerous currencydevaluations, political coups, natural disasters, socialtransformations as well as guerilla warfare. He has been instrumentalin raising over billion in primary and secondary transactions foremerging markets companies in Latin America, Central and EasternEurope, the Middle East and Africa, Pakistan and India
After an extensive tour behind the iron curtain, he got an MBA inFinance and International Business from New York University SternSchool of Business. He also holds a BFA, cum laude, from the Universityof Delaware
