Mr. Rajesh Srivastava joined Rabobank India in August 1998 afterspending about one and a half years in The GIC Group, an Americanconsulting company specialising in the food and agribusiness sector. Graduating from Lucknow University in Economicsand Laws, he spent over 10 years in credit divisions of Bank of Baroda and subsequently set up the Merchant Banking Divisionin Uttar Pradesh. In 1992, Rajesh left the Bank for Kenya on an assignment and returnedin 1994 to join Lazard Brothers’ sponsored venture capital company asHead of the South Asian Regional Fund, a venture capital fund operating in 10 states in India, for over 3 years. He has dealt with international and domestic financial institutions, banks and companies as a fund manager. Rajesh has over eight years’ strategic experience in the Food &Agribusiness sectors across the globe. In his present role as the Regional Head of Food & Agribusiness for Asia, Rajesh has put together a highly effective team of 20 research specialists that undertakes regular and in-depth strategic research on key issues relating to the Food & Agribusiness sectors in Asia including functional foods across the key markets. Rajesh also heads the Asia consulting practice of Rabobank which boasts of an impressive client portfolio consisting of global food multinationals at all points of the value chain and leading regional players. Rajesh’s considerable expertise in the corporate andinvestment banking arena spanning the venture capital, merchantbanking, and private equity segments gained through experience on a number of continents, has helped him forge strong international relationships. These are in turn drawn upon to further strengthen the Rabobank network in Asia and provide requisite knowledge support to Asian clients.
