Over the last three years Peter and his Developing World Marketscolleagues have successfully structured and closed bond issues andprivate equity placements raising nearly 0 million in capital forthe microfinance industry in developing countries.
Peter has also had ten years of experience managing funds in emergingmarkets; for the majority of that time, co-managing with JudyKirst-Kolkman, DWM I Fund, L.P. which has participated in over 350 IPOsand Secondary Offerings on local emerging markets stock exchanges.
Prior to DWM, Peter spent 14 years with Bankers Trust, focusedexclusively on emerging markets. As an investment banker in London withMiddle Eastern institutional clients, he helped restructure theirdirect investments in Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. In NewYork, Peter conceived and executed multiple bond issues to restructure billion of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) debts to the U.S.government by emerging markets governments. In Cairo, Peter opened andmanaged Bankers Trust's Egypt office and negotiated Bankers Trust'sfirst debt for equity swap and first asset backed financing backed byworkers remittances.
He has an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at TuftsUniversity and a BS from the School of Foreign Service at GeorgetownUniversity. He is competent in French and attempts conversationalSpanish but his efforts to learn Arabic at four top institutions haveall been futile.
