Mark is responsible for SRI business development at Henderson withafocus on product development and marketing. Mark is a founder of theoriginal SRI business created at Jupiter Asset Management in 1989,before the team's move to NPI in 1994. Alongside Clare Brook and TessaTennant, Mark was responsible for the company research and engagementwithin the investment management team. At NPI, Mark launched theHenderson Global Care Income Fund in 1995 and in 1996, the HendersonGlobal Care Managed Funds and in 1999 the SRI With Profits Fundamounting to some £800 million. Following NPI's purchase by AMP,Mark moved to Australia where he developed and launched the successfulAMP Sustainable Future Funds.
Mark was a founder of the UK Social Investment Forum in 1991 andco-authored the first study on the Marketplace for Ethical & GreenFunds in Europe in 1993. He was a contributor on the role of CapitalMarkets in Sustainable Development in the BCSD publication 'ChangingCourse' at the Earth Summit in1992 and was a member of the team thatlaunched the 'Rio Resolution' in 1992, a global initiative of socialinvestors promoting sustainable investment. Today he is a member of theUKSIF/Ethical Investment Association 'Retail Revolution' committee topromote SRI in the retail marketplace. He is also a board member of theFair Shares Educational Foundation; GeneWatch UK; and The RainforestFoundation. He has a degree in Politics & Economic History and aMasters in Agricultural Economics and worked on development & aidprojects from 1985 to 1989.
