Luis Gomez-Echeverri
Coordinator of the Implementation Programme - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Luis Gomez-Echeverri is a national of Columbia presently with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bonn, Germany, where he is the Coordinator of the Implementation Programme. Luis\' educational background is in international business, international economic relations and environmental management, with graduate degrees in international economic relations from Georgetown University, Political Economy from The New School for Social Research, and Environmental Studies from Yale University.
At the United Nations, Luis has built his career with the United Nations Development Programme where he has held a number of posts ranging from project management to senior technical advisor to governments and senior manager for the organization. His career has taken him to a large number of countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Although the environment has been one of his main interests throughout his career, the last decade with UNDP has been dedicated almost exclusively to environmental issues. Luis was responsible for initiating several environmental programs with UNDP throughout the world.
