Jonathan Schuman is Vice President for Product and BusinessDevelopment in for AIG Global Investment Group (“AIGGIG”). AIGGIGis a group of international asset management companies under AmericanInternational Group (“AIG”). In his current role, Jonathandeveloped AIGGIG’s Japan CSR Equity products and is also activelyinvolved in AIG’s corporate social responsibility initiatives inJapan. Prior to his current position, Mr. Schuman was theAssistant General Counsel for Legal and Government Affairs for the AIGCompanies in Japan and Korea. He also serves as the co-chair ofthe Financial Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce inJapan (ACCJ).
Mr. Schuman is a graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D.) and The FletcherSchool of Law and Diplomacy (M.A.L.D.). He pursued hisundergraduate studies at Williams College where he graduated summa cumlaude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies. Mr.Schuman has worked and studied in Japan for a total of approximatelyten years since 1991. From 1993-1995, he was a Monbusho ResearchScholar in the Department of International Political Economy at TsukubaUniversity.
