Joachim Faber is CEO of Allianz Global Investors and a member ofthemanagement board of Allianz Group, Munich. Dr. Faber led the build-upof asset management as Allianz's third core business. Allianz created aleading global asset manager through a series of acquisitions,including PIMCO and NicholasApplegate, as well as the integration ofDresdner Bank's asset management activities. Dr. Faber joined Allianzin 1997 as CFO and member of the management board ofAllianzVersicherungsAG, Munich. He was named to his current position inJanuary 2000. Prior to joining Allianz, Dr. Faber spent fourteen yearsworking in various positions for Citicorp in Frankfurt and London.Between 1995 and 1997, he was responsible for Citicorp's capitalmarkets business in Europe, North America and Japan. Dr. Fabergraduated from the University of Bonn with a degree in law. He receivedhis PhD degree from the Postgraduate School of Public Administration inSpeyer, Germany, after completing his research at the SorbonneUniversity in Paris, France.
