Ms. Helianti Hilman is Chairman of Khaula Karya Foundation (Khaula), anIndonesia-based social venture-capital organization working to fosterthe growth of competitive and sustainable businesses for economicallyactive poor. Khaula is also one of the principal operating institutionsfor RAMP Indonesia (www.ramp-indonesia.org), an impact-driventechnology-and-business incubation program for grassroots inventor andtechnopreneurs, which provide technical solutions in the area of water,energy, health, agriculture and biodiversity that contribute to povertyalleviation and sustainable development
Ms. Hilman obtained her master degree from Kings College, University ofLondon in 1998, majoring on IPR and technology transfer. Ms. Hilman isa self-taught entrepreneur and has been engaged in a diverse field ofwork, including IPR-based industry; technology-based ventures;environmental businesses; rural energy and electricity services; microfinance; as well as rural enterprise development. She has beeninvolved in facilitating micro, small and medium enterprises throughdifferent aspects, from product development, business arrangement,acquisition and commercialization of added-value technology, IPRmanagement, market development, as well as creative financing.
Ms. Hilman is an international speaker who has been providingconsulting services to various institutions such as Indonesian Ministryof Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesian Ministry of Environment,Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, IndonesianMinistry of SME and Cooperatives, the World Bank, UNEP, UNDP, WIPO,USAID, GTZ, GVEP, The Lemelson Foundation, and SEEP Network.
