Foundation Deputy Director - Shell
Having gained a DPhil from the University of Oxford, Chris started his own business to provide environmental advice to both corporations and public sector organizations. He then worked for 10 years in the UK Department for International Development, where in his position as Senior Environmental Adviser he worked with a wide variety of donors, corporations and NGO\'s in over 60 developing countries and middle-income countries.
He joined the Shell Foundation in 2001, and was appointed Deputy Director in June 2002. Within the Foundation he is responsible for the overall management of the Sustainable Energy Programme, and has led efforts to establish new investment partnerships with financial institutions that promote the pro-poor provision of modern energy services in ways that are financially viable.
