Arnaud BERGER, 38 ans, completed doctoral coursework in Biology (DEA)at the Hôpital Saint-Antoine / Institut Pasteur Paris, followedby an Engineering degree in Environmental Sciences (INSA, Strasbourg). He began his professional career at Steelcase Europe Inc working onenvironmental and security issues. Arnaud joined Banque Populaire d'Alsace in 1999 in order to manage thethe bank's policy on sustainable development and more specifically thefinancing of sustainability. His most important developments in thisarea include the creation of the environmental savings producteCODEVair and the environmental loans PREVair. These financial tools led to the development of public-privatepartnerships with, as a result, the first environmental loans withpreferential rate in France. As of September 2005, Arnaud is in charge of sustainable developmentfor the Banque Populaire Group. In March 2006, the company was the first to offer an environmentalsavings product as well as environmental loans (PREVair) at thenational level. These projects corresponded with the French government's ClimateStrategy which includes a focus on increased savings in order tofinance via tax deductions the purchase of environmentally efficientmaterials for homes.
