Alice Chapple
Director, Sustainable Financial Markets Business Programme - Forum for the Future
UK
Alice Chapple heads up the financial services sector work at Forum for the Future, the sustainable development charity. She works with others to develop ways in which profit-seeking capital can increasingly be allocated to activities which support sustainable development. Alice has worked as financial analyst, fund manager, and social and environmental advisor, largely in the emerging markets with CDC and Actis. Her recent areas of focus within Forum have included exploring the barriers to investment in clean technologies, investigating the opportunities for mainstream investment in pro-poor finance, and assessing how private equity might contribute to greater sustainability. These work-streams have considered how innovative financial instruments and / or more effective valuation techniques can be developed to deliver change. Alice has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University and is a chartered accountant.
